Rain Novena Brings Silver Lining

We have been experiencing drought conditions like much of the areas around us. One of our fellow parishioners started a Novena for rain. Deacon Keith helped write it and Greg has called and invited area churches to join us. We have completed the 9-day prayer petition twice and will start our third round again on Wednesday. Each time we have prayed the novena we have received moisture!

We greatly appreciate the moisture we receive and a bonus gift is we have created a small group that has a real feel of community and belonging. After we completed our second rain novena we gathered in the church basement for fellowship. With all the challenges we encounter in life and agriculture sometimes we need to set those worries aside and enjoy and deepen our friendships. We believe in the power of prayer so the rain novena is one way we feel like we are doing something to help ourselves and our neighbors. We ask the Lord for rain for our area and all areas that need it, pray for those who have died, those who have fallen away from the faith, and ask for healing for illness, injury or mental health struggles.

It is said that God uses all struggles to help us deepen our relationship with him. The rain novena has shown us the power of prayer, and brought us closer to God.
